19th PIKS Congress

The 19th Congress of the Polish Chamber of Steelworks was held on October 11, 2022 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Józefów near Warsaw.

The 19th PIKS Congress was opened by Zbigniew Barłóg, President of the Chamber. The participants of the Congress were also welcomed by Urszula Dzierżoń, representing the Congress Partner, ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions Poland sp. z o.o. Then the substantive part of the Congress began.

11:55 – 12:15 – The Steel Market – current situation and prospects for further development – Marcin Kujawski, Senior Economist, BNP Paribas Bank

12:15 – 12:35 – Possibilities of hedging commodity price risk (metals and steel) – practical aspects – Global Markets experts, BNP Paribas Bank

The discussion panel, moderated by journalist and TV presenter Monika Łaguna, was attended by:

The Special Guest of the 19th PIKS Congress was Mr. Aleksander Kwaśniewski, President of the Republic of Poland in the years 1995-2005. During the hour-long speech, the President discussed the broadly understood geopolitical situation and dynamic changes taking place in the world as a result of the war in Ukraine. Mr. Aleksander Kwaśniewski spoke about possible scenarios for the development of this conflict and how they will affect the Polish economic situation. The President devoted the end of his speech to answering the questions of the meeting participants. During Mr. Aleksander Kwaśniewski’s stay at the Holiday Inn hotel, there was plenty of time for commemorative photos and a moment of backstage talks.

In the evening, a ceremonial gala was held, during which the Certificates of the Manufacturer and Co-producer of Steel Structures were awarded and the winner of this year’s edition of the Steel Structure – Realization of the Year competition was awarded. The statuette for the awarded CAVATINA HALL facility in Bielsko-Biała was collected by representatives of ZEMAN HDF sp.z o.o.

During the 19th PIKS Congress, the following Steel Structures Manufacturer Certificates were extended:

The certificate was collected for the first time by the company:

  • EwiKor Construction sp. z o.o.

In turn, the extension of the Steel Structures Co-producer Certificate went to the company:

  • Construsoft sp.z o.o.

This certificate was awarded for the first time to the company:

  • Marcopol sp. z o.o.

The evening Gala was crowned with a performance by DANZEL, who presented a concert consisting of classics of popular music and original compositions in rock arrangements.
